Every bloom has a beginning

Follow along as three acres transform, one season at a time. Here's the journey you'll be part of.

The Seed

It starts with bare soil and three acres of promise. We sow pink and white everlasting daisy seed and wait for the first shoots to appear.

The Growing

Through sun and rain, the seedlings stretch upward. We'll share the behind-the-scenes moments: the good days, the muddy ones, and everything between.

Why are we doing this?

Rob, standing on a sunlit deck surrounded by greenery — Rob, deeply loved, and dearly missed.

Five years ago, we lost our beautiful brother Rob to pancreatic cancer at just 49. He was deeply loved by his children, his family, his friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rob faced treatment with huge courage, including major surgery, yet we learned that options for pancreatic cancer had changed little in more than 15 years. One thing Rob felt strongly about was having his tumour genetically tested. Today, that kind of testing is being offered in Brisbane, and it may help unlock the advances in treatment that we so dearly hope to see.

The field is a place of love, remembrance and hope: a way to honour Rob's life, invite others into the story, and raise money for cancer research so that, one day, fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of cancer.

Daisy Days will also help raise money for pancreatic research. Proceeds support the Frazer Institute at UQ biobank so tumours can be genetically tested, helping families better understand risk and supporting future breakthroughs.
